For those doing compounding to bring back color and remove shadows from removed decals, which pad do you use on the buffer and which for polish/wax. Wool or terry or what?

Wool pad to buff

Foam pad to polish

Terry cloth to wax

There is a difference between a buffer and a waxer.

Can you do it all with an "orbital waxer"?

I have used a waxer with very fine cut compound to do a small area. If you are doing the whole boat you need to buy a VERIABLE speed buffer.

I use a Atd veriable speed buffer. It can be bought at a auto motive paint store.

1. 3m marine super duty compound

2. ez1 high gloss clen cut

3. perfect-it 2 foam polishing pad glaze

4. 3m marine wax

there's a difference between a random orbit buffer and a rotary buffer. A variable speed rotary is what the professionals use.

I suppose it depends on what you are trying to do to determine if an obital will work.
