Wax on....wax off

OK all of you with the immaculate rigs....

After a good washing, is it OK to use a "cleaner wax" on the gel coat to remove light scratches and oxidation/imperfections before applying a final coat of wax?

Sure, but you don't need to do both. The 'cleaner wax' IS a wax.

IF you're going to do a two step process anyway, use an oxidation remover first, then a wax.

Have you heard about the MacGuiers (sp?) spray boat wax? I've never used it, but I have a bottle that I'm a little timid to use. I usually spray down the boat with their "quick clean" and that seems to clean it nicely.

Has anyone ever used that wet wax you can put on when the boat is still wet?

I just detailed the boat with Meguiers Premium Marine Wax (Black Bottle). Stuff worked great. When it comes to buffing the wax off, this stuff just wiped off like a polish. I didn't even use the orbital buffer to take the wax off.

Hopefully it will hold up.

I've been using the Meguiers wax as you dry for about a year now. I use it after we wipe down the boat since it's so easy to use. It even makes my 89' shine like new...good stuff
