Going away party in Clinton, MO for local wakeboarder Jon Dunn (he's moving to the big OC). May 21st. $10 gets you in to partake in adult beverages (via multiple kegs), watch some area pros hit kickers and sliders in a gigantic 18ft deep strip pit on the premesis, listen to some crazy good punk rock bands, bmx stunt jumpers, and a place to camp (bring your tent). Skiers Wharf Extreme2 was nice enough to let us use the website to promote it. Visit www.skierswharfextreme2.com/party.html for directions and info. Questions? Call 816-674-9460 ask for Courtney

So, I was the only sober person at the LF Encore movie premier party. And my, the things you intoxicated people were saying and doing. I should have brought a video camera.

Just thought everyone should know there is a Severely Amazing Weather Warning in effect for the greater Kansas City area from now until 8:30 PM on Saturday with a chance of really good weather on sunday as well. They are advising you to drop everything you are doing and go wakeboarding. If boat or wind problems occur check your local cable park. More details to come.......

Was out at Hillsdale last night. Weather was great, nobody there except for two jerks on wetbikes following me around to jump my wake. Water is warming up nicely. There was an orange X-Star out there I hadn't seen before. Is the driver online or do you guys know who that is?

Did it have a huge Stereo in it? X2? Or XStar?

It was an orange XStar. Not sure about the "huge stereo" as I never heard it. It did have four can's on the tower. No big, was just curious.

John that boat is pimp! Does it still have the Kicker system in it?

rkinsell - You might want to hook with Matt Ostermeyer... He rides at Clinton and lives in Lawrence... He has a tige and loves to ride all the time. He's on this board.

Good luck.

John and Brad, I think you guys are talking about different playground boats, because I think your boat is red, correct John? I think it is the '02 Playground boat that Brad is talking about. It would have been an X-Star and not an X-2.

I'm not sure! All I know is that I have a Red 03 and when I saw it at Xtreme it had playground stickers on it. No, it doesn't have the kicker equipment on it but I recently put some Sony Xplodes on the tower.

Yeah, Brad and I both did. Brad skied from '97 to '99 or so I think. I skied from '98 to '02. My brother also skied there from '02 to '05.

Just got back from Florida and it did storm the whole time. I was at The Wakeboard Camp and it was a great time. I learned a ton of stuff and everyone was really cool. Arron Reed, Kyle Schmidt and Benny G were there alot of the time and it was cool see them ride. I saw Arron land his first wake to wake backside big spin on his wakeskate(hs bs 180 while board does a 360). I also went to that Midwestcoast Summerfest this last weekend. It was kind of fun but the water was almost unridable and it was really hard to do stuff.

Ryan (Michael???) Havn't checked in here for a while... sorry for the no post... I'm back at home during the summer in KC, but still make it out to Clinton and Lawrence from time to time... We ride at hillsdale in the mornings a lot to beat the wallies out, but with a south wind, nothing beats Clinton. Hit me up sometime, I'll give you a pull... 913 908-8081

So I face planted at the Cable park on the No Fear box the other day- Matt Ostmeyer was on the cable behind me and saw the whole thing- I think I bruised a rib and did something to my collarbone. Either that or I'm a wuss. Maybe both. I'm not feeling so hot now. It didn't really feel so bad then- just a bruised knee... and a rather hurt ego (hey I got up and did it perfect the next lap around!)I guess the only way to get over the ouchies is to go out and do it again. Maybe tomorrow. One more day of recuperating..

Jenn,

Definately hit TSR. I've been down there twice and the place rocks!

I'm hoping to beat out the storms tomorrow. We're getting out about 9 for a whole day of action I think. Got to love the warm weather, but it's starting to feel like monsoon season around here.

Was driving home from the lake on Saturday night on the Turnpike and got hit by probably the hardest rain I have ever seen. I guess it just gives us more water to ride on!

Jenn, what's up? Let me know when you're getting back in town. You missed some nice water the other night.
Old    corkyswx2            06-08-2005, 8:18 AM Reply
Jenn- Matt didnt exactly save the day. He just kept on riding, I think his words were when he went by me, "Dude, is your face okay?" LOL. At least Earl volunteered to carry my board (even though he didnt need to) and CoCo had ice ready (even though I didnt need it). Have fun at TSR I have yet to ride there.
Old    hyperchick05            06-08-2005, 9:37 AM Reply
WOW, look what happens, I don't post for awhile, and then BOOM.

Well, Courtney, I'm glad you're okay.....that sucks you bit it at the end. "Dude, is your face okay," Haha classic Matt line.

We're all going to have to get together and do some riding when I get back. I'm planning on being in the Lawrence/Overland Park area next weekend so maybe we can all get together to ride.

Oh, and I'm going to demo a board at TSR while I'm down here and I want to try out a Liquid Force board, which one do you think I should try out? I was thinking about the Balance board.

Is it just me, or does it seem too early for the first round of INT to be this weekend? I've hardly rode behind the boat at all this season. I'm almost questioning whether I'm going to ride it- I don't feel at all ready and I was considering moving up a class. Does any one else feel the same??

I think it seems late, but I've been on the water since early March and have been getting out about 3 times a week lately. Can't make the INT though with work, so that sucks!

Tex, launch out of Big Dawg Marina in Tuttle Creek State Park. Either take the highway across the dam or come up Rocky Ford road and get to Spillway Marina Drive. Take a left on Spillway Marina Dr. if you have come across the dam and follow it back all the way into the marina. The launch is around the bend from the Marina. I'll give you a quick guide to Tuttle that should keep you out of trouble.

From Big Dawg your best riding during the summer will either be to the south toward the dam or just to the right of the marina cove in the big cove to the north. Both of these areas are pretty deep and shouldn't cause any problems, though watch out if you get deep in the cove to the north of the marina. My suggestion is to stay south of the marina and if you do venture north stay to the east side of the lake. Even from the dam, the west side of the lake is dangerous with a lot of trees and the surface of the water. The dam should provide good protection from the south wind. If you are in to slalom, the K-State Ski Team maintains a course in Stockdale cove to the northwest of the marina (first large cove NW of marina, about 3 miles by water). The cove is shallow back where the course is so watch out. If you have any questions, give me a call on my cell at 785-341-1681.

We are at the 41 at loto. Our cove is great, its alcorn hollow, but we have tons of boats come in the back and anchor. Would it be worth getting up early and driving up the lake past the 50mm to ride in the morning?
Also what boats are both of you?

This just in- Matt Osty, with his knees to his ears like a guy who stole some kid's tricycle got SCHOOLED by a girl (*me!*) at Saddlers Indoor NASCART in Olathe Sunday night. Congrats to Katy, Rachel, Liz and Nicole for running with the big guy and the other males consistenly in a 15 minute moto, thus proving that not only can we wakeboard, we can cruise on go-karts!
ALSO... my little bro ran sub-31 second lap times, beating the days' track record by two seconds, followed about 1.5 seconds/lap by KC Watersports's own Moby lovin' B-Rad.
Good job guys! We HAVE to do that again. And for all who missed out- well you missed out and need to join us next time.
