Does the type of rope make that much of a difference for a new rider? I ve been out maybe 4-5 times the past month and can edge pretty well as well as jump decent (almost w2w). For my skill level would it be better to get a wakeboard specific rope or continue learning on my ski rope? Didnt want to spend the money if I didnt have to right now.

Thanks

Any non stretch rope will work at this point for you. Just make sure it is a non stretch. This will make learning 10X easier and is well worth the $50 you might have to spend.

Proline LG combo is a good combo and fairly cheap, can be found for under 100 bucks.

ski ropes will stretch giving you alot of inconsistancy in jumping, getting pop and all around riding.

I think a good non stretch rope is a must. You should be able to pick one up pretty cheap on ebay or one of the sponsors web sites.
