I'm confused, it's now 40 ft deep at that little beach near crawdads, but in the 5 mph zone after it, its about 3.7 ft.

its too dangerous out there, there are too many snags. I know people who have done seirous damage to there boats. Folsom lake is way better and safer.

Where on the river did you mess up your prop? South near I5 or north near KL ?

In the 5mph zone at crawdads, one of our "guests'" was sitting at the very front of the boat very very high so I couldnt see when i was driving and bamm!

That sucks....

So Trevor, you hit a piece of "floating" debris? A gal I work with and her husband just bought a new Centurion, and drove up from Walnut Grove (close to an hour by boat) and were two minutes from Joe's Crab Shack where they were heading to eat.........BAM, they hit something "under" the water.......$4,000 damage, and still in the shop. Directly under the I-5 bridge.
This was the same exact day that Calabria sunk right in front of Joe's........(they actually limped up and saw it happen) Never heard what caused that one....?

I guess I've been pretty lucky North of Crawdad's, but get a little nervous when I see the gauge showing 4-5 feet at spots in the middle!

How bad was your damage?

4-5 feet in the middle? We had no problem on the river about 1 month ago. Are you saying that the water level has dropped that much in a month. Are those whales drinking up all the water? Sounds fishy to me. If this is true then Attila will have to watch out, No more getting drunk at "Crawdads" and jumping into the water. You might hit your head on the bottom.

Hahahaha....No, of course the river's not that low! I'm just wondering if the depth finder is picking up on potential under water hazards???? Or if it's jacked up? Like I said, I've been hittin' that section since early March, and haven't had a problem!

That's why I want to know what Trevor hit near Crawdad's.........

I don't know about the whales, but I see Mr. Sea Lion every time out, and I'm glad we're out of the wet suits, cuz I think he's scoping for a mate!

Hey Tom, is Attila's boat all red, or a red/white mix? Thought I may have seen it parked at Crawdad's last week?

I guess what Trevor hit was a CWB board attacking his boat. See Trevor a CWB boat is tougher than you or your boat.

Rik, Attila's boat (actually it is his wife's boat) is all red. Good looking boat but I do not think that it was his because she is carrying a child at the moment and I don't think that he is allowed to take the wife's boat out at the moment.

A Calabria sunk in the river I hope that it was not someone that I know

Oh, and is that the wife in your profile shot?

Congrats on the new shredder in the oven!

Attila............... you going to ask Tim Green to use his boat ?? Just kidding . I think the river is low right now because Farmers are pumping out water for irrigation. And Rik did you mean under the 80 bridge? The only bridge that crosses I5 is up @ Elkhorn isn't it?
Old     (hillbilly)      Join Date: Aug 2002       05-20-2007, 6:58 PM Reply
And watch out for the wingdams on the east side of the river starting above ski beach across from the West Sac side.
Old     (timsown)      Join Date: May 2005       05-20-2007, 7:07 PM Reply
I don't think Atilla really liked my boat. It is "a little light" for his taste.
Old    kidrik            05-20-2007, 7:17 PM Reply
Yes Jeff........Sorry man, I really need to switch out my crack pipe!

Cough, cough......"directly under the 80 bridge......" like I said!

Well I'm used to heavy boats also...Not that I'm skilled enough to need the weight, But it sure makes it fun. Even a stock 210 is a solid wake though! Tim anytime you want to try extra weight I have 540 lbs of lead. And a bunch of sac's. And know a couple people who would know where to put the weight. Oh and Rik actually I5 does cross the American river at Discovery but it's a 5mph zone.

That is true, but you were right though, the place she hit the hazard was under 80......good lookin' out!

Still want to know what Trevor hit in the 5 mph at Crawdad's............? I imagine he just dinged the prop?

All this debris crap is really causing me to worry. Who wants to take their boat out to chart the river???

Tim, your wake... and skills rock! I just need more junk in the trunk to get me up to max altitude!
