Longhorn Storage in Austin

Just got a letter in the mail from Longhorn Storage.....he's raising his rates from 60/month to 100/month....or roughly 66%.

I personally think 100 a month for a tin roof and a dirt floor is too much. So, I'm going to tell the guy the same thing I'd tell the cable guy if he raised my rates 66% in one pop.....no thanks....you're not the only business in town.

I say we all go tell him we'll find other storage and force him to lower his rates. I can handle a small increase but this is over the top.

Supply and demand... If he has a waiting list for people to get in, obviously there's more demand than supply.

I haven't used storage in a while, but last time I did it was $35/mo for fully-enclosed storage, with walls between stalls. How times have changed!

Wow, my dad had storage there during the summer so he would not have to tow his boat from houston to austin every weekend. He never had a problem getting a unit for just 4 months. Guess they are getting more business and can charge more, or less so they need to charge more to make ends meet.

I pay less than $100 a month for a concrete slab and an overhead rolling door in houston.

I just paid $50 for one month for a concrete slab with overhead rolling door (free lock too) in Montgomery, TX (just north of Conroe).
