Run the blue wire from the head unit to the blue wire on the boat. Also run a blue wire from this connection to the amp???

A blue wire should be a remote. I don't know who wired the boat, or if it has any other amps, but it shoule be a yellow power wire, a red power on signal wire and a black ground. The blue wire should be coming out of the deck and lables as a remote, which would go to the remote input on the amp.

You are correct about the head unit.
But my boat also has a blue wire.

uhhh.... Can you trace it back to its source? Do you have the other two power wires from the boat? Last question: do you have a volt meter or a test light?

Mike:; LOL you will be loving that velcro when you have to pull down that 20 LB amp and you have a loom of wires that thick that you have to deal with, But serious That velcro set up works great, adding a wire or changing the wires around,

You bum me so much I had to take a stab where I could, I know it's there for good reason and I am sure the options have been considered. Sometimes the simple things work best, just like my tower speaker jacks.
