Hello everyone,

Well I am new to the whole wakeboarding world and dont know alot about anything on the whole concept. I tried it for the first time yesterday and now that I have a feel for what it is like I have some questions.

First of all, I have always wondered if there was some kind of specific reason people used pylons and towers to lift the ski rope into the air. I do not have either, so I have to hook the rope to the stock tie down which is about a foot above the swim deck. One thing I noticed about this is every time I got pulled out of the water, the rope would tighten and push my board under water because the other side was so low. Am I on the right track here? Is this the reason for a pylon and tower?

Thanx for your help.

The whole reasoning behind keeping the rope high is when you jump and do tricks and stuff. When the rope is down low and you jump, if your higher than the rope is, then it will tend to pull you down, and you cant get alot of air. Where if you have a tower, chances are your not going to be able to go higher than the tower, so theres nothing that pulls you down.

But, obviously your not at the point where getting air is a big deal for you yet. So right now it shouldn't make a differance. Actualy with the rope being down low I find it easier to get up, cut in and out of the wake, and do surface tricks. I dunno, mabey thats just me.

I still wish I had a tower though....
