No matter how hard I crash, I never want to come out of my bindings, especially just one. I have had only bad things happen by a board coming off from a knee injury to a broken nose. I have also heard people say that they wouldn't have broke their ankle if they had come out of their bindings. It seems with the new designs that are coming out, companys have focused on keeping you locked in to your bindings. Can you imagine if they made snowboard bindings that released when you fell? So why is it any different with a wakeboard?

I thought I was going to hit the side of your boat. I needed a 5' shorter rope and I would have been on it. I think you freaked jay out a little.

How you going to compare Snowboarding with WBing? We might share some of the same style and tricks, but we don't ride the same terrains, with the same set of consequences.

I had the same thing happen three summers ago. Not very good, trying to do something dumb... one foot came out, the board flipped up and carved a nice digger out of my knee. The worst part was a twisted ankle (that still hurts) from the board rotation. I kept thinking "Dude, you suck, you're trying to get better and this happens??" A lot had to do with lousy bindings.
Regardless, Now I strap those things on to the point of going numb after a set. Yeah, I still suck but my feet aren't going anywhere.

coming out is nice SOMEtimes... a couple of years ago i was riding the new byerly and when i landed i spun on the surface and caught my heelside edge... i think everyone here knows what happens when this occurs... usually ends up with a nice hard slap to the whole front side of your body. But instead i shot right out of the bindings and dove into the water. It was the easiest and smoothest fall i have ever taken...

the problem with sucking them down till your toes turn white is that eventually, one foot will come out. when that happens you want the other one to come out too. broken feet aren't fun. i wouldn't think knee reconstruction is either.

granted, the chance of catching the edge/tip that yanks one out it is fairly uncommon. nonetheless, mine are ALWAYS gently snug.

I'd rather stay in myself.

I crashed bad once and had one foot come out of the binding the other one stay in. As a result the board twisted in the water and riped the top part of my muscle/ligament whatever you want to call it in my foot. I had to walk in a moon boot for a month, it was extreamly painful more painful then when I blew my knee out..

Wakeboarding is hard on the body, drink your milk.
