How is the wake on a 1994 maliub echelon wake.

The wake on the echelon is very nice. It is SV23 hull which is the same hull as the wakesetter. I have had 3 friends that have had them and they are one of my favorite wakes.

I have a 95 with the same hull, and it throws a pretty good wake when it is weighted down. I use about 600 lbs in lead and sand, and it is pretty nice. not going to be "world class" by any means, but pretty good.

You just need more weight. You should be running around 1000-1200 in the rear and 600 in the nose. You would be suprised how nice of a wake it will be. Like I said before it is the same bottom hull as the newer wakesetters.

Stan - Ideally, I would love to put all that weight in the boat, but having a closed bow, I have the storage filled with essentials, and we generally have at least 5 people in the boat at all times, so we are very limited on space. I am planning on adding about 200 more in lead, but that is about all the room I have now.

Yeah the boat does get a little tight when you start filling it with sacs. One of the guys I ride with uses the fat seat in back and puts a tube sac in the locker. I think you could probably get away with a fat seat in back and then put some lead/sand in the nose so it doesn't take up all the storage in front. That is the main problem in my mind with the older ski boats and why I finally upgraded this year to a v-drive.

I have always been worried about putting too much weight in it, since the boat sits so low anyways. I did not want to risk anything. I have a fat seat at home. I will try it out next time out, and see how it works out. just a matter of sorting out everything in the bow also.

my friend had a 94 and we used one 600# sac between the engine and rear seat. Worked great, real nice wake. Plus spotter(s) could sit on sac facing backwards, real comfort and adds more weight.

a guy i ride with has a 95, I assume its the same hull

he normally has a 350lb sac in the ski locker and the wedge, good hard but steep wake

otherwise he puts 1200 in the rear and 300 in the front, no wedge, big, solid, vlx like wake

That was a fat seat, pretty full probably 1000lbs which was in the back and then a tube sac 350lbs in the walk way plus 4 people. The boat drives fine with that much weight, of coarse I am kind of biased because everyboat I drive is usually pretty loaded down.
