Calabria Manufacturer: 3 owners in 5 years?

I just heard some information about The Calabria manufacturer has been through three ownerships in 5 years. Does anyone know anything about this and why they have been through so many ownerships in such a little amount of time.

Have they even changed ownership in five years. I never heard of it also. A guy is looking at my boat and said he heard that and was wondering why. Is there another company out there that this happened to.

No they have not the only person who is not with the company anymore is Mike Brendell

Yes Mike Brendell started MB Sports. I believe he started the company in 1993

Mike started Brendella, then sold it. It then became Calabria later on.

Um, from what I know...Mike left the picture many years ago(about 10?) and Bob has been running it ever since. It stayed Brendella for a while (till 97-98?)then it changed to Calabria. Mike went on to MB Sports but I don't think he is affiliated with them any longer. Thats the only MB - Calabria connection. Bob got a hold of the Hydrodyne molds a while back and still produces boats under the Hydrodyne name as well. All great Boats... :-)

Mike Brendell sold Bob Jessen and some investors, Brendella. There was a five year period in which there was to be a name change. It became Calabria in 1998. Brendell owns the name Ski Brendella but will probably never use it because he started and still owns MB. True.

Alpina was only sold in Oregon for the local MC dealer. And yes it was a Calabria. I only know a little about the MB split and I don't know if it is 100% ture so I will not say anything. Maybe Eric, Sean, Travis, or Aaron will help you out with the facts.
