We have had no problems. Have had the boat since December. It has one of the best wakes. A friend also has one and he also has had no problems.

my friend has one, and in my opinion, it has one of the best wakes compaired to all the other mastercrafts including the x1...

Wow, must be a great wake. The X1 is top three in my opinion.

I have several friends now with X2's that love them. One of them had and X1 for the past 3 years, and says he could never go back. And, the other one previously had a 210, and says the same.

We had the 05 X2 and now have the 06 X2 and feel the same way.

yeah i know of a problem. you can only get one side of the wake clean for wakesurfing and its not the side i surf on....definitely a regular footers boat....dang pickle fork.

Travis, how much weight do your friends with the new X-2's have on them?

How does the wake of an 06 X-2 compare to a X-1 (or 05 X-2) with stock ballast?

They run another 2000 on top of stock. I just did a clinic in one of them a few weeks ago, and the wake was great. He basically had 500 on each side of the engine, and then almost another 1000 in lead in the bow. The boat handled it fine.

We did run half a day with stock, and it looked good. It's a lot different wake than an X1. The guys we had loved it, but they are were beginner level.

We slammed one down and the wake was not good. Then we added and added and added until people had to move around to make it plane out and it was still not good enough. A couple of the biggest names in Cali completely disliked it. We stopped a competition and replaced the boat with my 05 X2 (X1). Everyone said the 05 X2/X1 wake was way better.

We tried several weighting scenarios and tested it with a half dozen high level riders.

Just sharing an experience. I have not ridden the wake personally.

I'm told by a reliable MC source that the boat was based on a Maristar hull which had a reputation for a bad wake to begin with.

We had an 05 X2 also, great boat. Now have the 06 X2 and we love it. Maybe the 06 X2 pulling the event had the smaller engine. We run ours on a private lake and on Shasta and never have had a problem planing

My buddy has the MCX with the new OJ14.25x14, and it has no problems with the weight at all.
