i learned without a tower and am still boarding with a tower and with a I/O and I am still progressing. Tower is the winter project :-)

I learned on a 91 bass boat with a 135hp o/b talk about hard on the back . . . . I still ride with no tower

the answer to your question is no. unfortunately it is impossible to learn to get up/ride/do siQ tRiQs behind a boat w/o a tower. period end of discussion. towers are a must and completely essential.

I learned a tantrum, backroll, and 360 before I got an extended pylon or tower with an ankle high wake.

I learned behind a SN 2001 back in the day on a skurfer! check out pre pop's extra's with murray and the gang throwin it down on skurfers and whatnot behind and old mastercraft direct drive with low pylon.
