For those of you who have the Sony Remote mounted on the transom of your boat are painfully aware of how poor of a design it is. Your jamming out and then your drunk buddy is leaning on the volume up button, or next track. Then 5 minutes later someone's girlfriend is doing the same thing.
Aside from disconnecting the 3.5mm wire on the back side to disable the buttons, does anyone have a creative solution for this problem?
You could maybe find something to use as a cover that could be lifted up to use it, but if your crew is already causing problems, I would imagine that cover would probably get broken off from someone leaning against it or on it
Cut the wiring right before the deck (or the splitter if you have 2 remotes), and wire in a relay with switch to the main power wire. Then you could turn the remote on and off at will from teh dash.
