Usually I'll use a Spring suit and a 1mm heater shirt and be (relatively) fine. Feet warm in the boots, keep the hands out of the water as much as possible. Oh, don't forget to make a warm spot! Once you get going, fall, you stay fairly warm. It's just the first time into the water after being on the boat where it's a little "numbing". Have the rope in hand, and a driver ready to go...

I usually ride in those temps in the spring, and I only just got a long sleeve top last season. Before that I used to just trunk it. I think a fullsuit may be a worthwhile investment this season. I would think that suit would certainly be better than nothing.

Thats the same suit i have and plan on doing the same in about the same temp. The only difference is im going to get the gooru glide to go on top.

If it was a Long sleeve spring suit, I'd say you may be good to go.

Frank, if your at Belews Creek, you'll be alright. I wear a full suit, but we've had a few of the crew trunkin' it all winter with just a spring top on. Not saying they don't get a little cold, but you know Belews isn't bad at all. I'm ready to go for just the top myself.

depends on what your comfort level is. In that temp I'd probably be rockin' a full 3/2. 50 degree water is a bit chilly for me, but you may be OK. Luckily 70 degree air will warm you up when you're out of the water

Frank ~~ Here in Utah I used to rock the shorty spring suit in 50 deg. water. I with Evan and it's all about your comfort level. The worst part is if you take it off it really sucks to put it back on. Would of went for the drysuit!
