Finished up my replacement of the sony headunit I had in the boat with a HSE RVC/WS-420 combo in the spot where the headunit was...

It's being run via iPod/iPhone via a iSimple IS75 (allows line out from the iPhone and will charge while playing)

That all runs into a pair of ARC Audio amps KS400.2 for the tower speakers and KS400.4 for the inboats.

Next up will be the sub so far I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. And the EQ is even on the proper side of the steering wheel ;)

By the way, Jim at HSE is amazing and has the best customer service I've ever experienced. He emailed me several times to make sure everything worked ok and answered any questions I had very, very quickly.

why do you need the volume control and the EQ, doesn't the EQ have a build in volume?

Not trying to be a smart azz, but I thought the 420 had separate volume controls. Why would you want the 420 AND the HSE?

The HSE is an automatic speed volume control that adjusts as the boat speeds up and down as it slows.

The HSE RVC is an automatic volume control. Turns the volume down when you let off the throttle and turns it back up when you get on the throttle. Pretty neat little device.
