Greenwood and Quiksilver

Hey does anyone know why Greenwood left Quiksilver? I just saw he signed with UGP.

I was wondering the same thing about Adkison. I don't think he is with oakley anymore. And I think he went to Xcel.

probably budget cuts in wake dept of quiksilver or more opportunity with ugp

whats even crazier is eric koston is off lakai.

Wow, Andrew lived in Oakley stuff. Their loss if it's true.

With the way the ecconomy is right now companies can't afford for the riders to slip up.

Wow! Andrew is not listed as a team rider on Oakley's site.

At least they still have lyman.

quiksilver is pretty much bankrupt. they are losing a lot of their big surfers too. rumor is dane reynolds will be gone soon and possibly even kelly slater

Active Ride Shop is in the same boat and filed for bankruptcy protection.

where did you get that info that quik is almost bankrupt?

Quiksilver losing slater would be a huge loss. He has a lot of respect and gets so much coverage in the surf world. Koston being off Lakai is just as bad. Economy suckssss.

Josh, i dont think koston being off lakai was an economy thing. there would be many others to cut before koston. i hope he ends up on dvs. basically the same company though

Yeah, true that. DVS would be a good fit for Koston, they're pretty involved with the Berrics.

I just got a press release yesterday that said Ben is now with UGP, and will have some signature line pieces. I'm glad he picked someone up. Not a lot of guys can ride a wakeboard better than Benny G. Not to mention he is a great guy.

Agreed, i met Ben in NY last month and he was a super down to earth guy. Very humble. Any team should be glad to have him!

DVS LAkai and Matix are the same company...

DVS, Lakai and Matix are NOT the same company they are distributed by the same company, Podium Distribution but different shareholders in the different companies. I used to work for them and you have to do seperate credit references for each brand.

Well Ben is a pretty stylish guy. UGP has about 100 times as much style as Quick.

If I could only figure out where to actually buy the stuff. Wakeoutlaws just has a few things. Their website has 2008 gear still but not good website for products display......

And for gods sake UGP make some hardcore womens boardshorts that are long and not pink please.

Rumor has it Quicksilver is working on a deal with Wal-Mart, wonder if this rumor is true? Hmmmmmm

i wear only Quiksilver shorts but if they start putting their product in Wal-Mart I am done buying Quik stuff.... F that noise

If they do end up in Walmart, those trunks will be nothing like their normal high end trunks you find at a boardshop.

Walmart buys strictly by price point so I doubt they would be over $20 retail.

From what I understand Quick has completely cut the wake program.

From what I hear the have cut all teams but keeping key people in place.
Rumor I heard is that Quik is designing a line of clothing for Wally world like it was said before this line will hold no tech features and be made out of the cheapest of cheap materials.

Quik's stock has fallen from $15 to down around $1.30 over the past 12 months...

It is awesome that Ben signed with UGP but at the same time, his salary must have gotten cut in half from what he was getting from quik. That would blow.
