Ryan Anderson throws a toe side 900 with a HANDLE PASS into an OLE (see WBM Feb & May 2007). This is definitely easier than a 900 with two handle passes, but

Is this cooler?

or

Is this lame?

i think it looks cooler and to me a better looking trick is cooler than a more technical trick

i like to see progression, new ideas on tricks. I like the fact that the rider good grab the hell out of it, super stylish.

I thought that this trick looked really sick in WBM. Always cool to see new things happen, shows that there still is a lot to invent and think of...

BUT, whatever you do, DON'T call it the "Oryan 9"
LOL!!!
We are super stoked that Ryan is on the mend after his recent injuries. Hopefully we will be seeing him in Orlando.....Doug?

Ryan is one bad ass rider. Don't care if it's a 900 handle pass to Ole or what, he makes it look good.

I can't wait to see him back on the water.

Here's what I want to know (Ryan? Doug? maybe Colt or Dylan knows?): Was the first one done in a panic to correct some il-rotation? Is it possible that he went up, got the first 3 or maybe even 5 with the pass, and then realized there was no way to get the next one....so, having presence in the air like he does (which, btw, is amazing), he decides to duck under and happens to land it.... Either way, I do know the kid and he is sick behind the boat and overall a really good guy. I'm sure we'll be hearing from him again as soon as he heals up.

I heard Shane Bonifay did a HS BS off-axis 720, but by accident did an ole instead of a second handle pass. Sick!

I think he was trying it at WWC last summer because on the video there is some failed attempts. All clear from the doc and is on a Ten-80 shoot in south Florida right now.

I'm remembering a pull at the Master's a couple years back when JD Webb did an Ole 9. I'm guessing it was TS, and he said something to the effect of "My rotation was off for the 2nd handle pass, so I figured why not go for the ole." He stuck it and I thought the announcer said it was the first one landed (but maybe in a comp?) Anyone else remember this (or was at the Master's)?

I like this question though about is it cool or is it lame. There is another application to this...
At the rail jams the fans love to see people go upside down in one way or another...
But from the riders perspective it is totally lame

Its strange cuz the fans don't get the difficulty of wall rides but love to see riders get air on the A frame. But a gapping the A frame and doing a flip? They would go nuts!! (the riders would eat their own) but the fans love it.

I saw one drunk guy telling (yelling it actually) at Henshaw to go big, and not only once but like 15 times (so obnoxious) Kevin did the totally sic move on the funbox to almost decapitating a photographer on the wall ride and this idiot screamed for more.

Any thoughts?Upload

I agree with dooie. It's a reverse whirly dick...dick whirly. It's an o/a 5 to whirly. You can call it ole and I guess that is somewhat what an ole is, but looks more like a whirly than one of Shaun Watson's spins to me.

Fooshee almost took my head off at the Grind in Austin a few weeks ago! We had a miscommunication on which rail he was hitting.

Question: What's wrong with doing things that get the crowd going. I mean you are in a rail jam to do a public display.
