I am currently searching for a new wake vest. I have the LF Watson side entry comp now but it's a large and I really need a med. I do prefer a comp vest but want one that will somewhat still keep me afloat! That is one thing I like about the Watson. However, I am willing to sacrifice buoyancy for style if the vest is "kick-ass" enough

a-10 attack vest by jet pilot is one of my favorites. It doesn't float enough for some people but the way i see it is it just needs to keep you up enough for someone to drag you into the boat when your knocked out. I actually just bought a helium vest that is really nice but is even less bouyant.

I would think that "somewhat keep me afloat" would be mandatory.....

I'm looking for one also, but it MUST be CGA.

Jeremy- Yeah I'm a big fan of the Hellium but have tried them but liked to drown doing so. I dunno tho. I have been boarding a lot longer since I last tried it so maybe it wont be so bad this time around.

Any more suggestions anybody

If you like to still be able to float a little try the cwb faction vest

Jet Pilot core is my all time favorite vest it's super thin and CGA

I just bought a Jet Pilot Core..I think its from 2007 or 08....I got it for a great price, but been too cold to use it. Montgomery, is it pretty good? I'm going from a bulky skiing vest to this...

Baller was the vest IMO.

I have a helium division vest and a jet pilot a-10. Personally, I am a fan of the a-10, but it's all personal preference.

Greg, it floats me perfectly and it's thin enough that I really don't even notice it when I'm riding. Out of all the vests I've tried it's the closest in comparison to a comp vest but the A-10 is my favorite comp vest by far it doesn't float me that well but I like it but I only use the A-10 for winching in semi shallow water

I wore an A-10 for my first 8 years of riding. I now rock a CGA vest. It doesn't constrict me whatsoever. I have landed new tricks with it, it keeps me floating and I feel a little better knowing that if I get all the wind knocked out of me, I am not putting the burden on everyone in the boat to find my body. Truth is, it's pretty selfish to rock a non-cga. It's not you you're being considerate of with cga, but with the people who are responsible for keeping you safe on the water. The boat owner is really going to have a lot of on him, if you go down. Just my two cents.

I agree Skubz. You aren't doing the boat owner any favors when you jump on with a non-CGA vest if he gets stopped and they count vests.

For 99% of riders I don't buy the argument that a CGA vest is too restrictive anyway. Heck, earlier this winter we got to the lake and discovered we had forgotten our "nice" vests. I had to ride with my old (circa 1986) Mastercraft slalom vest under my drysuit. I was still able to grab seatbelt and make the handle pass on my HS3, no problem.

Be smart and get a good CGA vest. Keeps you legal and keeps you afloat if you get knocked out.
