So I have been surfing twice now and love it. My wake is medium sized but I need to add some bow weight to lengthen the pocket. I can get slack in the rope for 5-10 second intervals and free rode for about 5 seconds!!!My question is that after reading some posts about how to ride the IS Red, I wanted to get my feet closer to the inside rail so that I can ride higher up the wake and not so much in the trough. The problem is that in order to flip my board while getting up I need my feet more towards outside rail of the board. So once i get up my feet are in the wrong spot. So i was trying to move my front foot to the inside rail, and was having a hard time. My foot wouldnt slide due to the foot pad, I coulndt pick my foot up and move it with out totally losing balance and i tried inching across with my toes which resulted in a major foot cramp. I am sure this is a dumb question but what is the best way to reposition your feet. I tried to flip the board with my feet where I wanted them but could not flip it. Any help would be great and feel free to make fun.

Hey Rob, as you practice and gain a better sense of balance on the board you'll be able to move your feet all over the place.

From the sounds of the foot cramping incident, it sounds like you are trying to hard... it will come with time. A little shuffle is all it takes. Try doing it with the rope for a little while before going ropeless.

Good luck and keep practicing! You'll be laughing about this as the summer goes on and you are shredding all over the place.

when you are first learning inching your feet slowly seems to work the best. Placing more weight on your stationary foot will help you a lot. after a while you will be able to move your feet around to diff positions on the board for diff tricks w/o even giving it any thought. try taking a few deep breaths and relaxing.

I found that you can move your foot a little easier when you are first getting up and edgeing to the outside of the wake. But once you are in the pocket you will have to inch your foot forward.
