just wondering what boat/motor everyone has and what you burn per session. i have a 2006 Moomba Mobius LSV w/ the 325hp EFI and i burn about 15 gallons per 2hr session w/ 3 riders getting 2 runs in each. i usually need to have at least a 1/2 tank of gas to make sure im not gonna run out. the problem is its the same gas i burn as i did w/ the 04 mobius 310hp carb w/ more weight in the boat. Well.. it might have no reference to your sweet boat but i go thru about 20-25 litres per hour on my 21' regal cuddy. If i remember correct an u.s. gallon is appx 3.6 litres. It's a almost 4000lbs boat with 1000lbs ballast running a 4.3 merc with a carb.. Oh, and it's an i/o...

Just used three quarters of a tank for a 3 day lake trip. Did some boarding, some surfing, and some lounging. I'd say not to bad.

I have been keeping very accurate Gas Records this season. I tank up before each outing. On the reciept I circle how much gas was pumped and write down how many hours were on the boat at the time of fill up. To date I am consistantly at 4 gallons per hour. 1990 Sport Nautique, No balast (Message edited by steelerguy on July 04, 2006)

Phil- I have the same boat and thought the same thing...but your gas guage sucks. We have run ours for hours past the empty line on many occasions. If the boat has a 40 gallon tank then it would be $120 to fill up(in houston). But mine will say empty and still only take about $60-70 till it starts to overflow. The guages aren't very accurate on the new moombas...not sure how to fix it...but it's pretty common.

Dunno, don't care. It's all about the fun and enjoyment. That's why we all work hard. If i start thinking about how much gas i burn it'll just put a dark cloud over my VLX everytime i pull into the gas station. "Work hard play harder"

About 4 gallons an hour for a 2000 SAN with only standard ballast (and a skilocker sack) with a GT40. Really like the economics of a PCM engine. Our 2004 X2 used about 6 gallons an hour with standard ballast and Preditor. Brett, it's a bit bold to say that you don't care. It's good that you have money enough, but think a bit about the environment. I would really like to see that the manufactures look at more efficient engine's and/or propulsion systems.

I burn around 5 gal per hour. 2000 Moomba Kamberra, Phil your right..the gas gauge is terrible. When it reads empty, I know it's half full. I run 2000lbs ballast and always have a full boat, 10 or 12 people, so somewhere around another 1500 lbs, usually 1/2 ladies....

RYAN, I've heard the gas guages on boats are meant to read like that, so there is always a decent size reserve....kinda makes sense, it's not like being in a car. My supra is the exact same way. I believe the tanks is 35 gallons. Even on empty I can only fit 26-28 gallons in there. (Message edited by acurtis_ttu on July 05, 2006) (Message edited by acurtis_ttu on July 05, 2006)
