Another Dealership in Seattle Closing

Although they weren't much of an inboard boat dealer they are shutting there doors at the end of the month. They sold Regal, Glastron, Fountain, Eliminator, various other offshore boats and also bought the Calabria dealer recently.

I guess that is what happens when you expand way too fast and buy brand new 42' fountain and 47' fountain in this market. Well there is going to be a lot of boat mechanics and salesman looking for work in the Seattle area.

That makes the old Tige dealer, Cope, Pro Tour(old Calabria), Power Boats NW and Olympic Boat Center in the last year.

olympic boat center closed..... didn't know that.

I still remember their commercials, "Olympic boat center we'll make a boat lover out of you". They had a huge dealership.

I am not sure if they are closed yet, but they filed Bankruptcy and closed most of their dealerships.

That was "boat nut"...... they had 15 dealerships up & down the west coast. Besides Bayliner & Maxum, they were also the Supreme & Mercruiser dealer. Their website is still up, http://www.boatnut.com but this news article says their stuff was auctioned off last month.

never went to one just saw the huge dealership near everett on the way to Anacortes. Always saw their commercials around boat show time.

Or the one right below Wild Waves on I5 in Tacoma. I use to wake up on car rides as a little kid just to look at all the boats. It's really crazy how times are changing.

The Seattle Boat Show is going to be interesting this year... I have to think Brunswick will have someone there selling Bayliners.

Bayliner and Trophy is going to Lake Union SeaRay.
Tige went to Sportboats NW.
Don't know where Fourwinns, Reinell, Centurion, Supreme, Maxum will end up.
It has been a tough year in the boat biz so get out there and support your local dealer!!

Darren, did I see a matching old tristar to that hunk of junk you have there? I saw one with an almost equally gross bottom but with a monster tower. I am going to have to come by and look at that 35 you got. I saw it from half way down the road and couldn't believe how huge it was.

I wonder how these newer companies like Wake Craft and Epic will do. I think Epic is an awesome looking boat. Hopefully both boat manufacturers are able to keep it together.

It looks like Brunswick is closing plants too so no more Bayliner to make fun of. The plant near where I live in Arlington Washington is closing and over 800 jobs are going kapoof!

8.12, -1.88, -18.8%) said Thursday it will accelerate planned plant closures that will affect about 1,450 jobs because of the global financial crisis. Earlier in the year, Brunswick said it would close four boat manufacturing plants in early 2009, but will now close plants in Navassa, N.C., Roseburg, Ore., and Arlington, Wash. by the end of 2008, with a plant in Pipestone, Minn. to be closed in the first quarter of 2009. Shares of Brunswick, which were halted earlier at $9.48, fell 14.8% to $8.52 in recent trading.

Real odd time we're living in should make a great story for our grandkids.
