Shasta, Powell or ?

Thinking about a week on a great lake early next summer. Would do a houseboat but costs are prohibitive for this crew. Anyone know of a great location with good lodging on shore (house or condo) and a marina with secure slips that fits the bill for 6 to 8 teens and 1 or 2 intrepid adults?

Check into Holiday Harbor. Their houseboats are pretty reasonable, not in the best shape, but good prices.

Discovery Bay Californi-A!! Some friends and I did a bachelor party and rented a sweet house on the water, with a boat lift for 4 days. Ride the Delta, which is a wakeboarders dream and have all the amenities of home.

in CA we used to goto lake oroville and get the floating campsites. those were good.

You need to consider water level at just about any of the bigger CA lakes for next year. Hard to say what things will look like in the spring. I wouldnt make plans for Shasta unless your going to house boat.
