A buddy of mine just picked up a new boat (used)205V w tower. He had a strange question for me. He asked if it was a bad idea to slide his racks back closer to the elbow weld rather than in the center of the bar. He has some oder racks which just a single hrizontal mount. He wanted to slide them all the way back on the 90 degree support to where it met the leg that goes perpendicular at the joint.... I guess you would call it. I didn't have an answer as my racks have dual horizontal mounts and are in the center of the cross member. His are the old Wake Design models. He was just worried it would put some stress at the joint and cause a crack possibly. What do you all think as I really couldn't answer his question....seemed logical enough
