Recently i got an houndred hour service. I got a new fan Belt and after the first weekend running the boat, it now squeaks... I tried to look to tighten the fan belt, but couldnt find the adjuster... Anyone got some info?

To tighten the fan belt you will need a crowbar and a wrench. I believe you have a V drive. It is a bit difficult to describe but locate the bolts attached to the pulleys and loosen them. You will then locate a curved piece of metal where you can place the crowbar and get leverage, you will then crank and then tight the bolts back. Hope this helps.

TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER BEFORE YOU MESS SOMETHING UP!! They should tighten it for free while you wait!

new belts require re-adjustment after they break in. but don't overtighten it and trash the bearings.

belts will also squeak from:

a: water on the belt
b: high load
c: hot spot or deformation( leaving it tight during the winter lay up.
d: loose

if you tighten it your self, shoot for 1/2" of deflection on the longest run.

see how much play the belt has in it after you've tightened it, at the longest section between pulleys. anymore than 1/2 inch and you'll want to get it tighter. if there isn't any play in it, then you're putting too much strain on the pulley's and the bearings will wear.

you don't need the dealer for a belt. find a leverage point, put your pry bar in there and gently apply pressure. the longer the bar, the more leverage you get so don't hee-man it. tighten whichever bolt you had to loosen and check the belt for play. rinse, repeat.

The leverage point is on the left lower rear side of the engine if you are facing the back of the boat. It's pretty easy to tighten.
