Just installed a new alternator in my 2001 X-Star. I used the stock Leece Neville alternator. I took a picture of the wire hookups to the alternator with a digital camera. Unfortunately, the pics were destroyed before I got around to installing the alternator. Does anyone have a wiring diagrahm or picture so I don't screw this up.
That is to bad that replaced the alternator with the original. I got a high ouput alt from the battery shack for the same price. Guy out of the Keys that makes them. (I labeled mine with masking tape on the side of each lug) Anyway if I remember: Orange is obvious which lug it goes to red goes to the back of the regulator purple is the exciter black is the ground goes to a liitle lug on alt there is a wire that jumps the ground over to the regulator
Those are off the top of my head. I had plenty of time looking at my alt last summer. Another note, for my 99 there was a recall on the alt bracket. You probably have the same bracket if you have the LT1.
