Just read the article on the new Fresh air exhaust diverter and have to say I am a bit sceptic. Even thought the exhaust is going in the water, the bubbles are going to contain the exhaust and pretty much come up in front of the rider or surfer anyway. Anyone else want to comment on this one way or the other?

Put catalytic converters on boats!!! Turns CO and hydrocarbons into CO2 and water. Also will take care of NOx and SOx. It's only a matter of time!!!

But back to your post: you will get a little more gas transport into the water, and you will definitly condense some unburned hydrocarbons with more (cold) water contact. So the theory is sound. It may not make a measurable difference though.
