Best of both worlds super sport. Almost as lite as a 6 with just a little less power than a 1k. I'm not a GSXR guy but if I was to buy one this would be the bike I'd go with. I really like the pillion on the 06 and newer models. That's a damn good deal if the title is clean. Especially considering all the gear that comes with it Good luck with your sale.

Very nice bike. Wish it was an 1100. I fit much better on an 1100. But then again, I'd have to convince the wife I needed it. She says I can't have one till the boat is paid for. I don't want to be riding one when I'm 50!

Do they make an 1100? I thought it was 600, 750, 1000, 1300.

Yup, they make the 1100. Google it. I'm 6'4" 230. I rode a 750 a loooong time ago, and back then liked the 1100 more. This is just a dream really. The wife would never let me get one, and if I did, a divorce is much more than $6K.

Shawn There is no way you can compare an old 1100 to todays bikes. I had a 04 GSXR 750 and it would out run several of my buddy's with 1000's. I had two buddies with 02 and 01 R1's and I would litterly walk away from them, And my bike wasn't to high modified. That bike would be a beast compared to an old GSXR 1100.

Yup... 750 is the best of all worlds. I work with a guy that's 6'3" and 270-ish. He rides the same bike but a 1000. The ergo's are exactly the same between the bikes and he fits just fine. Good luck with the sale, E.

Jarrod, I used to ride dirt bikes when I was a kid, but haven't for many years. So, I guess I'd be in the "newbie" category. When I get one though, I wanna go ride with you, ev and bry fusho!

Ben, I got the hybrid and the dirt clubs covered. I've got a CR250 also. I've actually been thinking of building a set of dirt wheels for my DRZ. It'd be fun to dual sport that thing around. It's heavy, but feels pretty nimble. I bet it'd be decent in the dirt. You're going to love it, man. They're a blast. Now, if only it'd stop raining so I could get back on my bike. I think it's been sitting on the battery tender for the last 3 weeks. I guess the lakes are filling, at least.

I rode pipi with a guy on a DRZ. He got through everything no problem. I would imagine that big hill climbs would be trouble though.

I'm sure it's all do-able. It's just heavy and down on power for how big it is. I bet if it was re-geared and you eliminated some of the stuff you didn't need for off-road riding it'd get the job done. It'd be rad in tahoe to be able to just hop on the road to connect dirt trail to dirt trail. You could pretty much ride all the way to Reno without getting staying on the road longer than a quick gas stop.

That would be rad. My buddy used to ride all through the tahoe forest on fireroads with a sleeping bag and gear strapped to his bike. That sounds like fun.

There's a site called adventure rider where that's basically all they do. It's a bunch of people that document their trips. Makes you want to jump on your bike and head for the hills. Pretty cool stuff. (Message edited by guido on February 06, 2010)
