I have a HL Motive that came w/ stock 1.7 Maruca poly fins. I have heard that to get better performance I should put Premier fins on my board. Does HL still make the Premier fin, and if not, which current HL fin is closest to it? A-wing, P-wing, etc.? Thanx

The original premier fin (the epoxy one that had Prmier on the side) is the same shape as the A-wing 1.1

a mate of mine also occasionally uses his old motive, he sticks the 0.8" p-wing on it. Just call up a store and ask if they've got any 0.8 03 premier fins, Its an aluminium fin now (not the epoxy one) but this will last longer and looks more 'bling'!!

I have the 1.1 A-wing on my Motive and love it. Since the Motive is the old Premier you basically turn it into the old Premeir with the fin change. Give it a try!

jonathan, just a point, i think the motive is the old belmont, not premier, the premier is more of a hi-bread from the belmont and byerly shapes.

Yeah Motive is the 2000-2001 belmont. Premier has only had two incarnations, the new shape and the Era shape. Those stock fins are pretty big, give the long based ones a try.

Brian,
We have used that board for testing fins and comparing them. The set we liked best on it if you want to break away from Hyperlite are the CDI Dynasty 1.5" fins. It made the board loose for surface tricks but then when you put it on edge you could still cut without sliding. If you get a second maybe check out our website, www.cdifins.com. Or if you have any questions about our testing feel free to email me.

Skiing made me board,
