Well I'm in the market for a new set up this season and was wondering what everysones fellings are between the 2011 Marek and 2011 Murray. I'm currently riding a 09 Murray 140 and 08 Watson 137 so I'm just looking for some advice. I was told over the weekend that I would really enjoy the ride on the Marek but won't have an oppertunity to ride any boards for a few months.
there was a very similar post not too long ago with the same questions. I used to ride the 09 murray, rode the 10 last year, and will be riding the 11 this year (no shape change). Its a great board. cant comment on the marek.
Marek is fast with little initiation along with being very solid in tracking. The Murray is a little more mellow and skatey with the .8 fins. Both great boards and haven't heard a bad thing about either except the skateyness of the Murray.
i have both the 09 murray and the 2010 marek. Marek it a rocket ship and super fast and stiff. Def alot of pop to it. Murray is a more relaxing board to ride because is a blended / hybrid. very smoothe and i thought it was the most predictable board if have ever ridden. with that beig said our lake is always a little chioppy and i tont feel that it tracks well enough for me in the conditions. a little slippery but i like big 1.0 fins. when its butter the murray is a riot to ride. like i said i have both and depending on where we ride depends on what i ride. muray is the one board no matter what ill never get rid of because its just a great all around board. hope that helps
