Need to get my wife a new board. She has been using my Island red which is too big and too fast for her. We have a Natique 216 inboard so the wake is moderate size. She is pretty good and can ride just about any board, but looking for something for a 125lb lady that is not super fast. Any thoughts?

something in the 4.2 to 4.6 range that uses a finbox that you can change size of fins on.

Last year I bought my 115lb wife a Hyperlite Coex. Its got rounded rails for stability and forgiveness and is a smaller board more fitted for her size.

I hate it cause its too slow for me, but she loves it. Its real stable. She's not trying to do anything fancy, just cruise with some carving. Works well for her and you can find them fairly cheap.

We rode the Liquid Force Custom Thruster a lot beginning of last season. It is 4' 6" 3 fin setup. The board is really stable if you want it to be, and not super fast. Once you got the hang of it, we could really carve it up and get it to move, so it's a great beginner board and one that more advanced riders can still use. (up to a certain weight- it is only 4'6")

The Walker Project Composite X is a nice board. I wouldn't describe it as super fast but it is a nice all a round board and it is reasonably priced. Last year Noelle Snyder won the WWSC Women's Surf division on this board.

yes, triple x 4'6 is an awesome board. i think im riding the 51 inch skim style board. I like my boards a lil small tho. im 115 lbs and its the perfect size for me.. One a little bit bigger would suite her perfect.
