We have our first boat and my son wants to try wakeboarding which is good but we only have a 140cm board with adjustable bindings. Do you see any problems?

He can get up on the board but it will slow progress if he likes boarding. Big board will be harder for him to control when he starts to go wake-to-wake and other activities. He really needs a 124 or 126cm board.

I tried to force my 10 year old (now 17) to ride a 134 when he started. We went to a demo day and he rode a 124 and I saw an immediated difference in his confidence and board control.

He is about 4'7 and 85#. I am assuming with the larger board it will be easy for him to get up.

There's full grown adults riding 138's. I weight 175 and just bumped up to a 142 from a 138 this year. Its really important to ride the correct size board if someone wants to ride at their potential. I agree with george, it'll be super easy for him to get up on a 140, but he'll have trouble doing much more than that. Idk how big or old your son is, but i'd strongly suggest putting him on the right size board.

I plan on getting him the right size board for his birthday in July, I am just hoping he could ride my board until then.

...my son weighs about 65 lbs and started on a 129.......this helped him get his confidence up as he's not exactly a go getter.....we could pul him at slower speeds that he was comfortable with. Once you see he likes it and has some confidence you can switch to a proper board. The first few rides it will be okay.
