One of my friends is apparently looking at a Ski Ray Wakeboard boat, apparently it has the same hull as a mastercraft. This I find hard to believe. Anyone out there know anything about these boats, or where I can find info on one?

Thanks!

He should also pick up a On The Edge wakeboard from boaterworld so he is a true Wally.

I have skied behind one. If they are like a mastercraft, it would be like an old maristar.

sure the stern-drive sticking out the back offers the same benifits of a v-drive

They did make an inboard direct drive a few years back.

There is one stored down the street from my house, not a bad looking boat. They were made by Sea Ray, which is a decent to good I/O mfr.

in addition to their inboard, they also made an outboard ski ray.

I have a Ski Ray inboard and honestly it has been the perfect starter boat. It throws a really nice steep wake when you put some weight in it and once you strip off all the eighties looking Ski Ray decals and crap it looks real nice and clean. We had to change the prop to better handle the weight, but the boat runs like a champ. If you want to see a picture of it it should be in my profile.

My roomate has a 92 ski ray inboard. With weight it puts out a good clean wake but it has to be wieghted. IT runs great and I have to agree with Ryan it a great cheap starter boat. this is a bad pic from my boatUpload

My first boat was a 92 Sea Ray Ski Ray. I loved it. We would put a fat seat and 2 500lb sacks on the sides of the engine compartments and it would throw a sweet wake. We never had a problem with it. Here's some pics.

I looked at one of these, closed bow, when I was shopping for a boat. It was a good boat and price for what it was... but felt a little smaller than other similar ski boats. With any true "ski" boat be prepared for the flat bottom feel.

I agree with it feeling smaller than other ski boats. I am guessing that is due to the built in platform as opposed to the platform being attached to the back. I can get a weighted wake pic this weekend if anyone wants to see. Have to pull the boat out of the water this weekend since we have an inch and a half of snow now! Worst part is that it was 84 like 5 days!
