not the tallest wake. but its pretty rampy and its got a clean edge. thats the thing i HATE about v drives. the top of the wake is always a mess. i like a clean lip. it makes it way easier for board and lip slides and its easier to jump in my opinionUpload

David your kidding right. Almost every pick you have on you myspace including one of the two above shows a washy wake. The first one looks decent though. Have fun man.

david the funny thing is that i doubt you were joking because every almost every post that u post sends raving reviews of how you love your boat and how it pops you hella high bro so theres wehre i doubt u intended the sacasm until u saw that we were giving you a hard time lol

and the problem with i/o's is that there is no fins on the bottom when you cut out your gunna be pulling the boat to one side slightly creating a wash on the wake 99% of the time you dont get that with a V-drive or Direct drive. But im sure you could do sum serious damage with your boat man.. just gotta throw some serious weight in there and i bet it would be a sick wake

Kyle, im actually am kidding dude. but anyways. our boat weighs 5500 pounds full of fuel with no people in it. so its pretty solid in the water. when you cut really hard though. the boat leans one direction yes. but it doesnt really PULL the boat if you know what i mean. and the pictures i posted. the boat is not trimmed. at the trim set at 4 its a little taller.

and this is kind of random. but we wakesurf behind our as well. haha. when we set the trim to 9 we can get a waist high wake. its pretty sick. but it burns 15 gallons of fuel an hour like that.

I call BS on that pic of the chewed up hand!

Site your source for that pic as it REALLY looks like an industrial accident from an Auger and not a propeller.

My buddy worked in a metal shop during high school and got his hand sucked up in a sheet metal roller. Looks exactly like his pictures. Thats crazy
Old     (alans)      Join Date: Aug 2005       10-22-2008, 10:41 AM Reply
yea, there simply would be no hand there if it hit the prop.

lol does it matter? God gave ya common sense, why even chance it? That pic has turned up everywhere regarding surfing behind an i/o. Im for surfing but dang, the thought of getting chewed up by that i/o prop it aint worth it even with a swim platform over it. In my profession I need my hands to bring home the bacon to support my family and this fun sport we enjoy. If I become physically handicapped I will be physically and financially messed up. Not worth it!

attaboy KG, calling BS on a pic of an accident...sounds like another action-packed day for you..."site your source"...keeping the 'net honest.

and Al, if you think that a boat prop would take a hand clean off please do me a favour and try it for yourself. or google what happens to a mannatee when a prop hits them...

anyways, I was just sharing a pic that we have all already seen 100 times, and passing on the message that surfing behind an I/O is not a good idea.
Old     (fatsac)      Join Date: Jun 2004       10-22-2008, 11:04 AM Reply
Wouldn't you be able to see the prop spinning while surfing behind and I/O? That alone is enough to keep me well away from it.

I personally know two people that hit props and neither one of them have their limbs and I know of several other people that have lost their lives. None of them were wakesurf wakeboard related. Are you guys calling me Al? I don't get it, that pic is bs. If you think that a little skin, bone, and cartilage is going to stop a 330+ hp engine from spinning a few blades, you are sadly mistaken.

Alan, I don't really feel like arguing with a grown man about something so trivial. I only re-posted because I assumed you were 12 and lacked some life experience. That is not the case, however. We all know people who have caught their limbs in moving parts of machinery. Some have limbs, some do not. Try to use your imagination. I think this picture is a better option over the story of the kid who was impaled on a trimmed-up stern drive. And my apologies, the sited source was not intended for you, it was for KG.

The timing of this thread is perfect. I just yelled at my kids for sticking their hand down the garbage disposal. I just showed them this pic and lesson learned. they could care less if it was an auger, prop, machine, or whatever point is they got the idea.I think I saw my 9 year old go pale hahaha
Old     (05mobiuslsv)      Join Date: Apr 2006       10-22-2008, 3:11 PM Reply
That picture of the injury is not from a prop. Just because it was on that website doesn't mean it's really from a boating accident. That's an industrial workplace injury.
Old     (to_blind)      Join Date: Mar 2007       10-22-2008, 3:37 PM Reply
Of course NuBu, silly of us to get the two mixed up.
Industrial workplace injury = pretty broad.
How/why have you ruled out a prop?
Whatever man, go surf behind an I/O.
Old     (05mobiuslsv)      Join Date: Apr 2006       10-22-2008, 3:45 PM Reply
derek I wouldn't surf behind a I/O. I agree not the boat for that. Point was that's not what caused that injury. If it was a prop there would be deep gashes to the bone, and since the effected wound area goes so far up his arm he would either be missing all or most of his hand and fingers. A prop won't pull the skin off of the finger like his middle finger it would cut if off.

Don't get upset cause you're wrong.
Old     (lfrider92)      Join Date: Sep 2008       10-22-2008, 4:00 PM Reply
if you look at the picture of the back of our boat. its got a pretty big swim deck. and its almost water level. so even if i where to fall straight forward. i still wouldnt be able to hit the prop. i know what can happen though

Its like when people burn themselves on coffee and try to blame McDonalds for the fact they maybe a retarded person ---> McDonalds has to put warnings everywhere to make sure you know your coffee is hot

A bunch of foolish wakesurf their I/O... cut their heads off and now I/O companys/independant places must protect people from themselves.

well, i was trying to convey something that had a lot of conspiracy theories associated with it and that was the first thing that came to mind. I'm really surprised that it would offend anyone (i mean, did you see the pic of the guy with a friggin tree stuck in his crotch???) and even more surprised that posting that image would be construed as un-American... but oh well. How about this, is this one better?

ah...my meaning was that the pic of the prop seemed to bring out many hypothesis to the real cause of the injury and it seems that we had some sleuths on the site.. i was only pointing out that if we can tackle that mystery so effectively, we should take on another such as the Kennedy assassination... obviously it was a lame duck attempt at humor.
