Thanks!

I use this card most of the time in my 20D.

Guess we will see what others say, but I don't think you can go wrong with Sandisk.... Some of the better informed can tell you about write speeds and their effects with the card and your 20D..... Shooting continuous a lot may make those a HUGE benefit; I do not do that....

I can put A TON(maybe close to 200 RAW + small JPG ) of shots on a 2GB card.... I only have 2GB cards, not sure if I want to even worry about going to 4GB or higher.....Christ it is WORK to go through 2GB....

Then it may just be worth switching cards incase you have some issue with the card you are/were using....

But....

Walt beat me to the punch....

Walt, if you don't mind me asking.... Is the 8GB just better safe than running out of memory when shooting and not wanting to switch?

I shoot raw+Lg most of the time and I hate changing cards so the 8 works well for me. I think it will hold 1000+ shots on raw+Lg

I have a couple of 1GB and a couple of 256 that I never use since I picked up the 8.

personally, i'd much rather have a bunch of smaller cards (4gb or smaller) than have 1 large card. imagine losing all of your images should that one card goes bad.

Cool, I was wondering if I should get the "extreme" card since I shoot "extreme" sports. I've noticed the sweet Ritz card on mine seems to write slow. I plan on shooting sequences.

EJ, what are you shooting with? We need to get together for the boat show, or did I miss it? I've been out of the local wake loop lately.

I know, you went underground....didn't get you in the boat once last year.....

Were you riding a lot with Tommy?

I have a 30D, 17-85 and 70-200 2.8....

I posted on the other thread that you need to give me a call and I will come shoot you in the park. Then we can go knocking on Jason B's door and drink his beer.

I am just trying to learn this stuff.... My learning curve has not been like Jed's, who is putting out some great stuff.

I use a 16 gig Extreme III from SanDisk. I have a 4 gig of the same variety, and a few older/smaller Lexar units. All work very well.

Edit: I wouldn't buy one from ebay unless you are very very careful.
Ebay scam

I use an 8 Gig card. I can get about 300 or 400 shots or so (can't remember exactly) This is just my opinion but I don't recommend getting several 2 Gig CF...Personnally, I think I am more likely to misplace a 2 gig card than my 8 gig card is to self destruct. When you are moving things around in the bag..sometimes they disappear. I have lost a few things in the day but have never had a memory card go bad. Hard drives yes...flash memory no. Plus, you don't always know when you are going to shoot through a bunch of pics and using the small card option you may not have your spares handy. I think I have pushed the limit once or twice on the 8 gig...with the 2 gig it seemed like I was always running it to the end and occasionally having to purge bad shots in the camera.

That being said, 8 gig CF is now really the 2 gig CF. I believe Lexar has a 48 Gig CF out. Last year at this time we were talking about the huge 16GB flash cards.

YMMV

Ultra II's in 1 and 2 gig sizes in my 20D. I don't think the 20D can take advantage of the faster cards. Another thing to consider is what your shooting. If your shooting sports and mashing the shutter then larger cards may be better for you. I shoot mostly landscapes and rarely need more then a 2 gig card. even when shooting wake I rarely mash the shutter
