Cracked tower foot

just got my boat out of storage and this is what i found. called the storage/ marine owner and he said he will fix it (what ever it takes). my question is, will i need to take the foot of the tower off? i know that to weld aluminum it takes a lot of heat. will that kind of heat affect the fiberglass and gelcoat? also i heard from the dealer a while back that the feet for this tower are glued as well as screwed, is that true?

Looks like your going to have more than tower problems there! There's some gel work to be done. I'm sure you dealer can get that tower off. Def would not try to fix the tower while attached to the boat. They need to order or fab a whole new tower foot. I wouldn't let them try to repair it.
What was the cause of this or did the storage owner say?

"they didn't know what happened" the ceiling is low in spots, my guess is that they hit something with the tower. the gel cracks were there, not woried about those as much as the tower.
