Last fall I had to replace my engine in 2001 X-9. Headgasket blew - boat was driven which created a 'groove' in the blcok. I am insured with BoatUS and didn't bother even calling to check to see if it's covered - paid 5k myself. Now, I just read that some insurance policies will cover the engine - just not the part that broke (the gasket in this case). Anyone know??

I know I should just call - but I am paranoid to call and even mention a possible claim. Thanks!

I'd call and ask what's covered under your policy. Just ask questions, if it's covered then get some of your money back.

Read your policy! If you are paying for that sort of coverage, which I doubt because blown head gaskets are considered normal wear and tear, let them know. BTW that "groove" could have been fixed.
