Now that Dave has posted up the Phoenix pics i thought i would share with everyone what it took for me to get those pics. My friend Mike and i were stoked to head out to AZ to hang with our good friend Elliott in Tempe and crash at his place, spend some time with our extended wakeboard family and take it all in at the tour stop. We decided to take my chick's 2003 Honda Civic as to save gas money, oh how wrong that came to be. 4 hours into the trip and I was crashed out asleep in the passenger’s seat I was awoken to a loud bang. As I was awoken Mike looks to me and says "It just blew up" and sure enough after further inspection on the side of the road in 115 degree heat 20 miles outside of Quartzite,AZ. The little Honda had thrown a rod. There was little that we could do other than call our friend up and wait. About 4 hours later our good pal Elliott rolls up in his Tacoma with a tow dolley and away we went. Not to let that unfortunate event spoil our fun we shrugged our shoulders and said "oh well stuff happens". So we continued on to the tour stop and watched as everyone threw down some pretty epic runs in the hot Arizona sun, checked out some of Arizonas wildlife, hung out at the Drive premiere in Tempe and called it a weekend as my chick drove my fullsize gas guzzling Chevy out from San Diego so that i would have the joy of towing it back home. So much for saving gas money. The silver lining is that I just got the car back from the dealer with a brand new motor. All for free. Ahhhhh the joys of warranties.
