BACKROLL W/O 180

I need some help...I am having trouble throwing a regular backroll (that is landing regular)...every time I throw it I come down goofy with the board sliding out into the flats...I would imagine that landing regular is easier but can not figure out the rotation...help please...

You could be over-rotating or just turning you hips. It might be that you are spinning more than "rolling". Try and keep the handle in at your leading hip and initiate the roll by (if you're left foot forward) throwing your right shoulder toward your left foot without twisting.

Or, you could just do an ole 540.

I had this same problem when i first starting doing back rolls, I would try to throw the trick and so i ended up letting go with my front hand, causing me to turn to revert. Try to think about dropping your back hand after you initiate the trick.

I also had the same problem, except I would keep both hands on the handle and land somewhere in between a roll and a roll to revert (ouch). Michael Gilbert is right - its easier to do a backroll when you let go with your backhand when upside down. This way, instead of the handle pulling you around to revert, it'll actually help you stay with your regular foot forward. Good Luck!

Make sure to let go with your back hand on a regular back roll and than you pretty much can't go into a roll-revert
