buying a boat and would like some advice

I am looking at boats now and have pretty much decided on either an 01 or 02 X-star. I am still considering the SAN or a Malibu. I am an intermediate rider I would say and I would like a boat with a nice big clean wake with a lot of vert. Any advice would be appreciated, and I hope I do not start a boat bashing war. Thanks for the help.

Boat bashing? What in the world would give you that idea? Everyone knows everyone, so it's all in good fun - most of the time.

The SAN has the most vert out of all three. It'll buck ya. You need to ride behind it to see for yourself. The X-Star would be second in that category and the Malibu has a nice rampy wake that is like butta, but you can tweak it.

You want vert, get a nautique, stay away from malibu.....I am a malibu guy, but the wake is ramp not vert. Tige is also big vert!

if it was me i would get the malibu, with the wedge you can get alot of vert out of the boat but you can also leave the wedge up and get a more rampy feel. versitile. i think the VLX is overall a better boat than the X-star but that is just my opinion, the nautique is super vert but built extremely well, it is a little small overall however, the X-Star has a great wake but to mee seems a little squishy. overall all 3 are great boats and espesially if you ad another 1500pds or so, i would go for the malibu because of the versitility of the wedge and from what i've seen they have the better surf wake. but in all honesty go drive them all and see what feels right!

The SAN builds the most efficient vert wake because the boat is much more narrow. You need less weight to get the same pop. You will also save on fuel consumption.

As I get older, I am starting to really appreciate the rampy wake of the BU. Everyone I know can still get their tricks in yet the wake is far more forgiving and less brutal on your body.

..but the gas consumption is not so forgiving to your wallet.
