I know a few guys that are using the new Stright-line ARi with interchangeable grips, they love them.

The Proline LG is the most comfortable on the market... IMO

I got to use the new Proline Synthesis handle this weekend and it was by far the best handle I've used. The triangle type shape of the grip was awesome!! Check it out, they are brand new.

I am leary of carbon handles because of the beginners I pull and teach. I heard the handle chips easy. Will carbon do damage to your board as well? How about this Straightline Chris has pictured here. Will it chip or do damage? I was told Byerly was really comfortable. How about the durability of the changeable yoke. Do you think it will stand the test of time? It certainly looks sweet.

@ Jeff

Is the handle grip of the Proline Faction soft or hard?

The sides of the SL above are a composite plastic material and are not rigid. They do have some flex side to side. I am not worried about the handle causing any chips or damage.

I have heard similar complaints about carbon handles causing chips in gel coat from careless people bring the rope in the boat and knocking the side of the boat with the handle.

Robin, new Proline Faction has a soft grip.

I picked up the proline LG in a package deal thru Wakegiant. That is an awesome deal my friends. Price out the line and the handle separately...big bucks. Got the rope package for $119 complete. Plus they do not charge for shipping over 100 bucks. They have Ronix line packages too. It does not get any better than that. Ask for Shawn if you call up there.....he is a good guy to work with. Check their site. Go to your local....check the grips, and then save some dough at Wakegiant.

My buddy got me to get the proline LG handle. very comfy and super simple. I have a carbon handle and it is nice but not worth the extra 50 bucks. And it will end up chipping your board on falls. it hit mine a couple of times and took a nice big chunk out of it. Another sick handle is the byerly handle. Love it! my buddy has it and it was the handle i landed my first invert with. Only thing is they dont float. But its not that big of a deal

Maybe a dumb question, but does the proline LG float?

I have had 2 lgs both floated when they were new and sank more the older they got. I believe the second one was an 07 but not sure.

My '07 floats if it's not in the water everyday. When I use it alot it sinks. I think they'll alow water to get trapped in the sides if they get used frequently. Not sure though..

They are definitely sick handles though.

Does the rope that comes with the combo float?
Old     (jon4pres)      Join Date: May 2004       03-30-2007, 1:18 PM Reply
I take it back. Mine were boath 06s but the second one I got on a warranty deal and it was supposed to be an improved version of the 06. It still sank when it was in the water for a while.

Sinking is really not that big of a deal anyways.

All of the 07 LG's float. The 06's have a hard time with it. Jeff pointed it out, as you can see in the pics the endcap's of the 06's are short, and the 07's extend all the way out.
