Got to thinking today about how big/clean the double up would be behind the X-80. My guess is it would be HUGE!!!

Tough thing would be keeping it clean. I bet you'd have better luck with a smaller boat on a double up.

The X-80 wake isn't actually as big/nice as you might think. Yes, it's a huge boat but all that weight is spread out over a lot of surface area. Like Jon said, you'd get a better result with a smaller boat.

The x80 wake sucks, bigger boat=/= better wake.

i had heard the wake sucks..also heard you had to ride roughly around 26-28 mph just to get the wash out

While I agree that the x80 wake sucks I dont agree that the smaller boats can get a bigger wake, for example the 24ssv has a bigger wake than the 20ssv or the X-star roughly 23ft will throw a bigger wake than a x-1 about 20ft. This is the reason why Nautique has moved to the 230 as being their "flagship" wakeboat as opposed to the 210, Smaller boats are easier to get a clean wake on, but I would not necessarily agree about them being bigger,

My buddy has an x-80 and if weighted properly the wake is seriously over thigh high, and the double ups are essentially triple ups. It is a weird wake to get used to though.

I have rode behind a x-80 with about 15 people in it and the wake was ridiculous. It did not curl at all (24.5 @ 80 or so). I think many are mis-informed about the boats capabilities. It is essentially a 28ft x-star. Double-ups are ridiculous, but you need a lot of space to turn.
