So my Doctor has told me I need surgery on my wrist and of course I let her know that I'd be right on that after the wakeboarding season is over and before the snowboarding season begins (Sometime in the Fall of 2006). She said that if I postpone the procedure I will need to immobilize my wrist while wakeboarding. Does anyone have any suggestions for a wrist brace you can use in water and still be able to grip and release the handle for passing between hands? Also, do they make them in smaller sizes for female riders?

Yes!

I broke my wrist a couple of months ago and I've been wakeboarding and motocrossing with a brace ever since.

I've worn through 3 braces so far. The best one yet is the ACE Tekzone. I found them at Safeway by the pharmacy.

What makes the Tekzone better is dual supports. There is one across the top of your hand, and one below the bottom of your wrist. Other braces have only one which makes them less stiff.

When I lift weights I use both. When I ride, I remove the bottom support. This allows me to grip the handle but still limits my range of movement. It's killer.

Thank you for replying so promptly. I will give the ACE TekZone a try. Looks like they have it in smaller sizes and it's affordable ($13.98). By the way...how's your wrist doing? Hope it's feeling better.

It's feeling much better, thank you. I can finally wipe with my right hand again.
