Ok folks I need some suggestions. I am a relatively new wakeboarder...40 yrs old....6ft tall 215lbs....in good shape. I am looking to pick up a new board in the off season and would like some suggestions. I currently ride a 142 Hyperlite Vero which is a pretty basic beginner type board, with Spin bindings. I am looking for a board that will allow me to progress a bit more in my riding and one that will grow with me for a few years. Right now I can do basic stuff like heel side w2w, surface spins, w2w 180's etc. The Vero has been a good learning board but I want something with some more rocker and molded in fins. I took the stock fins off this summer and replaced with some 1.2's and it made the board loose but fun. The only problem was when the water got the least bit choppy those fins made it hard to stay in a cut. (I realize my lack of talent/skill probably plays a part in this as well...) I would like to know what you guys think as far as a good board/binding combo....thanks

2007 Transcend 142 is a great board, and would be good for someone your size, but demo before you buy. A buddy of mine that is about your size rides the J-Star, Rusty's Board, and he loves it.

I am your size and I ride a CWB Marius 140. Love the board. It is a bit different than what you are used to so give it a ride first.

I also have tried the new Transcend 142. Awesome board also. I am debating on getting one myself.

Tate-- are the landings much different between the two? Is their a noticeable pop difference?

I thought the Transcend had more pop but the Marius was more subtle. The landings are good on both but I like the Marius better in that aspect. The Transcend also felt a bit quicker. Hope that helps. I would ride them both and see what you think.
