I set up my boots like a how-to from a wakeboard site suggested.. kinda like this \ / but I see quite a few people with their bindings set up like this \ \ which one is easier??

both ducked out evenly... lets you ride switch much easier and will help progress your wakeboarding.

you want to be able to ride switched, I think it will feel a lot more natural whith both bindings moving away from each other.

If you set your bindings up like this \ \ all it does it turn everything (feet, knees, hips, shoulders) towards the boat. Usually people do that when they're learning, and my opinion is that it only creates bad habits (i.e. relying on the fin instead of the edge). Feet, knees, hips, and shoulders should all stay relatively in the same plane to give maximum leverage on the toe/heel edge.

The way I do it...

stand on a chair, jump forwards off it on to the ground. Look down, and whattever angle your feet are at, set that up to your binding angles. That is your natural foot angle.

I just made this theory up myself, but it makes sense to me... and so far it has been working.

Just don't duck them out too far, or you will be making a torn ACL thread.

I would like to see the scientific research to back up that statement.

And your process does usually work, but it usually takes more than one jump.

Just heard it from multiple people who have torn theirs. Could be wrong... but if someone who has torn/hurt their ACL multiple times and been to many specialist doctors tells me that, I will listen to them. IMO.

well I tore mine, and I wasn't ducked very much; so, how did it happen?

Not sure, I'm not a doctor. And I didn't mean duct bindings WILL tear your ACL... but it might help. Might not.

Just going by what I've heard.

THANE ive heard that bindings being out all the way can help tear your acl/damage knees...

I've heard that if your set-up doesn't match then it could help tear your ACL.
