i'm looking to spend around 15K for a boat. up till now i had been looking at MC but that doesnt seem to be enough to get me into a wake specific hull such as a 96 and up. i've noticed that for the same money i can get other brands much newer and fully equipped.
i'd like some input as to what would be a good boat for this money in Tige, Malibu, supra, etc. and also which ones i should avoid all together.
there is just too many out there to choose without help.
thanks in advance
tom

Hey Tom, just do a search here in the forums, this has been covered countless times. Best boat < 10K, best boat under 15K, 20K, you name it... it's all been covered. FWIW I think the consensus has always been the early-mid 80s SN 2001 was the best bang for the buck.

you might be able to find a 96 MC 205 or a 95 Sport Nautique. More then likely those will both be about $17 and up though, but they both are wake specific hulls. If you can only spend $15k you may have to sacrafice things like an open bow. The 2001 is most likely the best wake specific boat under $15k out there.

i'm not stuck at 15K, just trying to keep that amount in my head so when i spend more it doesnt get out of control. 15 to 20 is more the range i'd spend

I have a 1997 Tige Pre2000wt that I just took on trade-in. Check out this link: http://www.flipsell.com/Phase3/home/DispVehicle.asp?VehicleID=8330

When i test drove it for dealer inspection, it looked to have a very nice wake with ballast full. It also ran great.

We were able to get a 96 VLX for 15,900 but we were extremely lucky to find it for that price and in great shape. Just keep looking and dont jump on the first boat you think you want.
