I know 99% of the WW population is from Cali, but we recently brought our boat home from northern Michigan and want to go riding in SE Mich. We're thinking Orchard Lake early morn on a weekday? How are the depths? Wally factor? Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

I ride in northwest ohio. We tend to like the maumee river. Not sure how far that would be for you.

ok im in se michigan. orchard lake gets to 100 feet but at any time you have to deal with the chodes who's idea of boat safety is only drinking 12 beers instead of an entire fifth by 9am. union lake is good. there is light traffic because all the bumpkins go out on cass lake. cass lake or ass lake is where you go for the parties....do NOT bother trying to board out there. we lucked out and are on an old rock quarry turned private lake that dosn't even have a name, only two other boats even have access. the problem here is the stupid factor and because the lakes are pretty small so the traffic causes a lot of chop. so the best public lake we have been on is union lake. good luck have fun!!!!!

best 2 lakes i have been on around here: Pine Lake and Lakeville Lake.

Pine Lake is right by orchard lake...

Lakeville Lake is around downtown oxford.

both are normally great during the mornings or on weekdays, like you said...

We're on Sylvan and Otter Lakes... both are good in the morning or on weekends (it's usually very light traffic until around noon or so). Sometimes weekday nights are good too.

Thanks for the input guys... this morning we went out on Orchard Lake at about 8:30. It was AMAZING. Slightly overcast, so we were the only boat on the water, and I have never seen water so smooth, and we had butter until we pulled out at 11:00.

Mike- I'll look into Union lake and maybe we'll give it a shot.

Charlie- Pine lake is private, but a buddy of mine has a Bu at the marina there. A bit smaller, but still a sweet lake.

Thanks again!

I ride Posey Lake, but that's private. I'm not sure, but you might be able to find some decent water midweek on Devil's Lake. Also, there are some lakes out by Coldwater that might not be too bad. There are quite a few of them connected together so there is a good chance you might find good water there.

By the way, anyone in the NW Ohio, SE Michigan area interested in riding any weekdays?
