i have a quick question. What would you guys say is a better boat. an 89 supra? or a 99 Glastron. the supra is a direct drive, and the glastron is an I/O. what are your thoughts? opinions?

You're serious right? You have one option here and it's not Glastron.

supra since it is a safer boat and produces a much nicer wake. If it was based purely off of apperance the glastron

Supra Comp vs any Glastron? For wakeboarding any Supra vs any Glastron, the Supra would rule low freeboard or not.

Seriously how can you even compare the two wakeboard boat vs fishing boat. Here is my 89 Supra I picked up three years ago for 9 Grand I added the tower and cleaned it up now look at.

Linden, Here is a link to the names and specs of the boats that Supra built in 89. http://www.nadaguides.com/default.aspx?LI=1-24-38-5692-0-0-0&l=1&w=24&p=38&f=5694&gc=MR&gtc=MR&m=1675&y=1989& ml=S
The Conbrio and Comp are the two least desirable boats out of this list due to their freeboard. They are capable of producing a nicely shaped wake, but the low freeboard doesn't allow you to run much ballast from what I have seen. The Sunsport (Open bow)/Marauder (closed bow) hull is a proven hull and makes a great wake. The Saltare and Pirata are also pretty capable wake machines but take a lot of wake. You do need to check out the floor and stringers in the Supra as they are wood and may have some rot unless the boat was very well taken care of.

Nope it's a 20' Sunsport with 500 hours when its sacked out with 2000LBS it throws a huge wake.

my last boat was a comp, with 800 lbs the wake was rideable but on the small size. clean but small.... watch your turns.

if a comp... take the glastron. they are pretty nice i/os. with proper weight can actually give a very rideable wake. if its like a sunsport...... take it and run!

The Falcon will be similar to the Comp, small wake, low freeboard, and a low bow too. Descent boats, but not ideal.
