My pelican case was in my trunk and my car was broken into last night. I hadn't listed the gear on my homeowners insurance as of yet and it's all gone! Any suggestions?

Hahn sorry to hear that bro. I hope you get your stuff back. I don't have any suggestions, but if you post what was taken, I would be more than happy to keep an eye out for it.

You may be OK as long as you have receipts. You have 30 days to notify them when you buy a car so hopefully that will apply to your gear as well. The reason I know that is I bought a car a few years ago with about 50% cash down and it was stolen that night. Boy was I freaked out until my agent told me that!

sonuva!!!!!!!! sorry to hear that dude. hope those guys (or girls) get what's comin' to them! thieves suck much ass!!! a few years ago, i had my car broken into. taken were $3000 in stereo equipment, 60+ cds, clothes from the night before (spent the night at my friend's house...they even took my dirty underwear!!!) and miscellaneous things. i claimed everything in my homeowners' insurance, tho i only had receipts for the stereo stuff. insurance company gave me money for everything i claimed! so you may have some luck!

No Buneo! Sorry to hear about that. For obvious reason you'll need to file a police report so the insurance company has something to go off of. Do you have homeowners/renter's insurance? That will cover it. (If asked... your gear was for hobby use, not PRO work!)

Do you guys think Amex will cover it? Does anyone know what Amex's insurance policy is? (Message edited by solo on April 08, 2005)

Amex's purchase protection covers it for the first 90 days. I just turned in a claim for an ibook one of our employees broke. Call them at 800 322 1277 and they'll tell you if you're covered and will start a claim for you.
