What do you guys think is the max number of people you can put in a VLX for the day? I am planning a trip for May and want to set a limit. Anyone have thoughts, experiences, etc. they can share? Thanks in advance!!

Isn't there a capacity sticker on your boat? All boats under 25' are supposed to have a capacity sticker on it. At any rate, if you want to exceed the recommended capacity, which you can, you must be sure that you have a vest on board for each person. Each child under 12 (or 16 in some states) must wear a vest at all time while on board. It's entirely up to you since it becomes a liability issue on your part.

I would definitely have a vest for everyone. There is a recommended capacity sticker, which I believe says 11, but I understand that it is just what it says, "recommended." I am curious what some VLX owners have experienced putting in 10+ people. I have never had more than 7 or 8 in my boat. But, 8 doesn't even feel close to crowded.

If I can fit 10-12 people in a nautique 2001, then you can fit 20-25 in a VLX!

Comfortably (for me) I put 8 people, this still leaves people room to move about. If you don't care about people having any space and having to crawl over people 12 easily.

We've had 11 people and be just fine. The more people means less runs per day though...

I was among about 15 people on a 14 ft jet boat one Summer. Was only to ferry about 100 meters from the boat we were cruising on (120 ft Mussel farm boat) to the beach but she was sacked Down to about an inch and a half of free board. So you should be fine with an extra 7 or so feet of boat under you.

I had 9 in my 205, plus a rider. Makes it interesting to drive. We've only had 5 plus a rider in the Vride so far. But I can imagine 9 or 10 pretty easily if the bow is being used. Depends on how many 200 lb guys & 100 lb chicks you have on board, not to mention kids. And also what are you doing..... just booze cruisin or actually riding?

Girls take up less seat space but five times as much storage space.....at least in my experience. If you are going to drive around and ride all day i would recommend more than eight but if its a booze cruise 12....just dont run out of booze. I have run out of gas before but never booze and my friends didnt mind getting towed in.

make sure you think about how many boards you'll have...gotta have enough racks or they'll be all over the place.... make sure you have room for an extra cooler on the floor too!

Thanks for everyone's input. Pat, that Enzo looks big enough to handle 18, no problem! Ewing, you may be right on the tag saying 12. My boat is in storage so I can't go out and check. Our trip is a Memorial Day weekend trip, where we will not be doing any riding because the water will be worthless. We will be launching the boat, cruising for 1/2 hour to a party cove, tying up, hanging out on and off the boat for the day, and then cruising back to the ramp. As for the crew, there will be no kids, some 200 lb dudes (myself included), and some (but not enough) 100 lb. girls!

I have the exact same size boat and routinely have 10+ on there (some kids) without any issues. If your just chillin' tons of people can hang out in the boat, the water and inflatables. Just be certain you have vests for every person on your boat. Loaded down boats tend to draw the attention of patrol boats.

I would probably not want more than 4-5 riders and as many "observers" as possible.
